We all come in different shapes and sizes. My main goal is to help my clients look and feel their best no matter what shape they are. It can be hard to figure out what looks good and how to highlight your features. Below are some ideas for women with an apple shape.
First, what is apple shape? This is someone who has a waist that is not well defined. This shape tends to carry more weight in the mid-section. If you are this shape your goal should be to play up your legs, arms, and bust. Flowing tunics, structured pants, and delicate necklaces are your friends. Statement earrings look amazing on you! If you are this shape try to avoid skinny jeans. Instead choose a straight leg or a flare.
In this first example I use a blazer to create a slimming line. A tailored blazer helps to give you a defined waist. The white V-neck tunic draws the eye up, and the flowing silhouette is flattering. The blazer and tunic are basics, and can be worn with jeans on the weekend or an A-line skirt to the office. The items that make this look current are the pants, earrings, and the shoes. The pants combine the athletic and plaid trend in a structured straight leg fit. The pop of color in the earrings and shoes ties it all together.
In the second option, I use the same J-Crew Blazer again. When you shop you should always try to think of more than one way to wear each item. This time, the animal print pants are what makes the outfit. I know they are a bit of an investment, but they are silk with animal print, and these are two things that never go out of style. Remember “Buy Less, Choose Well”. The black cami is velvet, which brings a little texture and interest. Red accessories always look good with an animal print! I chose budget friendly accessories to round out the look.
Lastly, this shift dress has dark navy in the center, and the lighter brighter colors are at the top and bottom which is perfect for an apple shape. Wear it in the warmer months alone, or in the winter with a navy turtleneck underneath. The mule and earring complete the look.
If you have an apple shape give one of these looks a try! Let me know how it goes in the comments!
